Join Laura Keane for an afternoon of dancing, confidence-building, laughter, and feel-good vibes at this Hip Hop & Commercial Dance Workshop designed especially for absolute beginners.

Laura is a Cork-based dancer and choreographer who teaches her own successful adult classes as well as with three of Cork’s most respected dance schools. Her experience includes music videos, drag school workshops, award-winning competition pieces, self-run events, shows, and dance film projects across Cork.

No dance experience? Perfect. Two left feet? Even better.

We’ll start with a warm-up and stretch, learn some simple dance foundations, and finish with a fun, easy commercial routine focused on great music and good energy.

To celebrate 4 amazing years in business, we are hosting a FREE community fitness event on Saturday, 27th June at the Marina Market, and everyone is invited! 💪🔥

Whether you’re a current member, past member, or completely new to BASE Fitness or have never met us before, this event is for YOU. From 9:00am–10:30am, our goal is simple: get as many people in Cork City moving, smiling, and feeling good together.

This workout will be suitable for ALL fitness levels and abilities, so don’t worry if you’re a beginner or haven’t trained in a while, just come along, get involved, and enjoy the atmosphere! 🙌

Darragh McCarthy Memorial Event

DMax 7.7 will take place at the Marina Market in Cork on Saturday, May 16, bringing a unique and meaningful challenge to fitness enthusiasts.

It features seven stations, each lasting seven minutes, with a two-minute transition between each.

Competitors, entering in doubles teams, will test their strength, endurance, and mental resilience across a series of challenges including skipping, skiErg, med ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps, and wall balls.

The number seven represents Darragh’s birthday, July 7, while the total event time of one hour and one minute holds special significance. It marks the time in which Darragh and his cousin Séan completed their first Hyrox event together, a moment that captures Darragh’s love of challenge and camaraderie.

The stag symbol as part of the event logo also has significance. It was to be Darragh’s next tattoo — a symbol of strength, power and determination.

During the all-day event, doubles teams will compete on a points-based system earning one point per repetition, skip, or movement, with the goal of achieving the highest score within the time limit.

DMax 7.7 is a non-profit event, with all ticket sales covering events costs.
